#BEKIND FOUNDERS

Shannon Coughanour
I believe a person's example is far more influential than their education, experience, opinions and words. I also believe, whether you are 8 or 78, you have the power to influence behavior in the people around you. With every interaction, you choose to be a positive influence or a negative one. You either build community culture (or family culture, or team culture or school culture), or you tear it down.
I'm an avid advocate of the power of education and youth sports to grow young leaders, and I'm a relentless mission to inspire all ages to lead with strength, discipline, courage, respect...and most of all, kindness.
I've been married to my best friend for over 20 years, I'm a mom to two teenage boys, a consulting project manager by profession, and volunteer throughout my community. I'm also a co-founder of 2BeKind, LLC and a kindness ambassador for the #BeKind initiative.

When someone suggested that the answer to finding your passion might just be the same answer to what breaks your heart, this is it.
My first experience with bullying was in elementary school as I stood by and watched a young girl being repeatedly bullied.
Fortunately, she found the strength to stand up for herself and the bullying stopped. In doing so, she gave me courage! She gave me a voice. I will never sit silently on the sidelines again. In 23 years of parenting, I've seen it happen time and time again. On the bus, in the lunchroom, on the playground. I've seen it happen in a restaurant, in the workplace and on the baseball diamond. I read about it every single day and wish I could unread it. For some, the damage is too much to bear and THAT is what breaks my heart.
I've been married to the man of my dreams for 17 years and have three sons that are the loves of my life. I am a co-founder of 2BeKind, LLC, employed as a Resource Support Analyst, enjoy volunteering, playing tennis and watching my kids play sports.
